yes, i did survive week one, just about. i know week one is always the hardest part of starting a new job, and let's fact it, week one always SUCKS, even in it is the dream job you have always wanted forever and ever. (and this certainly is not that). but it was nice to have a routine again, and also nice to know there will be a few more pennies in the bank account, so i guess that will have to do for now. it is too soon to judge the job itself as i had so little training. for the first three days i basically sat around while everyone else in our department ran around like maniacs and had no time to train me. there is nothing i hate more then being bored at work. i would rather be manically busy then watching the clock tick, so that was hard for me. but by thursday they were throwing stuff my way, thank god, and i am sure soon i will regret complaining that i didn't have much to do :)
meanwhile, i am also trying not to think about the fact that as temp in london, i was earning the same amount as i am now, with 2 more weeks of vacation a year, and working 5 hours less per week, with no money taken out for healthcare (cause it's free there), and i paid exactly the same percentage in taxes as i pay here. allst i know it, why on earth can't we get it together in this country to provide national healthcare? all this bitching and moaning about the government getting our tax money and meanwhile people are happy to hand over thousands, sometimes 10's of thousands a year for healthcare? WTF?
well, that's my sunday evening bitch session out of the way. hope everyone has a good week. think good thoughts for me this week 2 cause i will need it!
